NOTICE is given that pursuant to the provisions of section 15 of the’ Rating Act, the Municipal Council of Malindi, has levied for the year 1998 a site value rate of 5 per cent on the land appearing in the 1990 Valuation Roll. The rates become due on 1st January, 1998, and under section 16 (3) of the Rating Act, interest shall become payable at the rate of 2 per cent per month or part thereof on any rates remaining unpaid after ist April, 1998. It is therefore, notified for information of the rate payers that, while every effort will be made to deliver to every person liable a demand note stating the amount due, failure so to deliver such demand note will not absolve the debtor from any liability or penalty attached to non-payment of rates.
