THE ADVOCATES ACT
(Cap. 16)
BILL
PURSUANT to section 53 (9) of the Advocates Act and 12 (1) of the Advocates (Complaints Commission) Rules, 1991, it is notified for general information that between 1st October, 1997 and 31st December, 1997 the Complaints Commission received a total of one hundred and seventy-nine (179) new complaints of professional misconduct or otherwise against advocates and firms of advocates and that in the same period one hundred and ninety
(190) cases were disposed of and one thousand five hundred and ninety-two (1592) remain pending.
(a) The grounds for the nature of new complaints are as shown below—

(e) 6. In summary for calendar year 1997 after recalculation for clerical errors the Commission received 969 cases and disposed of
