PURSUANT to regulation 21 of the Environmental Management and Coordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the above proposed project. The Proponent (Safaricom Staff Pension Scheme) is proposing to put up a Mixed Use Development on a 25.5 acre parcel of land, LR No. 337/974 located in Mavoko, Machakos County along Mombasa Road. The proposed development will consist of a retail centre (mall), 113 units of 4 bedroom town houses, 157 units of 3 bedroom town houses, community centre, kindergarten, recreation facilities, 15m wide tree lined boulevard, 9m wide road, 3m wide jogging track, waste water treatment plant, main entrance/ exit, emergency exits, green court and parking areas.
